Webcom Resources was founded in Seattle, with our original business model focusing on web hosting and domains. By the end of our first year, we had acquired an Agile web programming company, Extreme Programming, and were able to offer complete web development services.
Webcom Resources relocated to Atchison, Kansas, a micropolitan about 45 minutes north of Kansas City. Though locating in one of the surrounding larger cities may have been more logical, the small yet progressive city perfectly complements our passion for hometown communities.
In order to focus on creative digital, our client portfolio of nearly 9,000 domains was divested to a Canadian hosting company, Hosting Nation. Our background in hosting and server administration has been an asset in our web development projects.
2010 was a big year for LinkedIn…and us! We began working with our first animal health client, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI), through an unexpected connection on the new business networking platform. We’ve been working with BIVI for over 7 years, through their growth in becoming a global leader in animal health.
In the spring of 2013, we found a new home in the Berger Building in Atchison. We started in only a few offices but soon expanded as we added additional team members.
We launched our first Civikhub program, a revolutionary marketing program designed to strengthen hometown communities through digital marketing. Atchison was our first community (of course), using the hub site of Atchison Online as the collaborative marketing platform.
Our second Civikhub partner – Doniphan County, KS – further developed our system of helping economic development organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and downtown associations provide better marketing to strengthen and grow their communities .
