Business Profiles for the Win!
If you’ve heard me speak, you probably know tell every single business that they must have an Instagram account, and so I'm going to assume that you already have one. Instagram gives you the option of setting up two different types of profiles, either a personal profile or a business profile. I want to discuss why I highly recommend a business profile rather than a personal profile for your Instagram account.
Benefits of Using a Business Profile for Your Instagram Account
- You can hook your business profile up to your Facebook Business Page. This is great because every time you use your Facebook Page to create ads, those same ads will show on Instagram. You can also cross post from Facebook to Instagram and vise versa. Although it don't recommend doing that regularly!
- You have access to insights and analytics. Having a business profile for your Instagram account allows you to see how many people are visiting your profile and engaging with your content. Tracking and analyzing this data will help you make more informed decisions about your marketing strategy and enable you to optimize your Instagram posts in a way that gets more value for your business.
- You get a contact button. It used to be that in order for someone to contact you from your Instagram account, they had to either direct message you or click on a link to your website for your contact information. Now, with the contact button on Instagram business profiles, you have the option to include an email address, a phone number, and/or directions.
- You can choose a business category. Choosing a business category on Instagram will help users quickly identify who you are and what you're about. This will help you connect with more of the people who are actually interested in what your business has to offer.
Get the Most Value out of Your Instagram Account
When it comes to getting more value for your business, having a business profile over a personal profile on Instagram is key. Instagram has done a lot to optimize their platform so that businesses can reach their target customers with their content, products, and services.
